Do I need any approvals before contacting Nexus?

Don’t worry about a thing, we will organise all necessary approvals with the council and Water Corporation when you first meet with us. We’re committed to working with you from start to finish – we even organise the survey and engineering details for you.

Should I change my own insurance when completing home renovations?

We advise all of our clients to contact and inform their home insurance company of any works prior to undertaking any renovations. They will know what’s best for you and where to take it from there.

How long do renovations take?

The short answer: 3-6 months. But in reality, every single renovation we complete is unique and specifically tailored to the individual. So, depending on your needs and requirements, a time frame will be drawn up to reflect the proposed renovation.

Prior to signing the contract, Nexus will work closely with you to ensure we successfully organise the allowable working days to complete the project. Every renovation is different, so every renovation will differ in building time, however we always do our best to make things go as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Do I need to move out while the renovations take place?

This is entirely up to you and depends on how big your renovation is and the duration of the build. We think it’s best to speak to your Site Manager before making any decisions, but the team of experts here at Nexus will gladly offer our advice, too. We’ll find a solution that’s well-suited to your needs.

How much mess will there be during the renovation?

As every renovation project is unique, there is not a universal answer to this question. However, Nexus strictly adheres to professional standards and treats both our clients and our work with the utmost respect. Wherever possible, we will minimise the mess for the duration of the renovation.

However, in cases where it may be necessary to carry out demolition, furnishings will need to be covered and there may be a couple of noisy, messy days – but that’s all part of the transformation! Of course, Nexus will make you fully aware of any demolition or procedures that may impact the level of mess or disturbance.

Can I/we change the design plan once it has been drawn up?

Absolutely. If you want to make any in-house changes to the design plan before the contract is signed, we’ll provide these free of charge. Please be aware that any changes made after the contract has been signed may result in additional fees. Nexus recommends working with our great team of professionals in-house prior to signing the contract, to make sure you have peace of mind about your renovation project.

Am I able to employ additional tradespeople while Nexus is on site?

Generally not. Additional tradespeople unrelated to the Nexus Group are not covered by insurance, which can lead to trouble if even the smallest thing goes wrong. We encourage you to seek guidance from your Site Manager if you wish to hire additional tradespeople, to ensure you don’t end up paying unnecessary fees and costs.

Can I purchase my own fixtures and fittings for the renovation?

You certainly can and we’re more than happy for you to do so. However, please make sure you advise your consultant prior to any materials being purchased. Any changes can affect both the price and scheduling of the renovation. We think the best idea is to always seek consultation from us before making any additional purchases.

What locations/areas does Nexus Homes Group operate and work in?

Our HQ is located in Cockburn Central (Perth, Western Australia), but we work on home renovations all throughout the Perth metropolitan area. If you fall outside of this area, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to see if we can help you out.

If you would like to speak to us directly, call us on (08) 9414 1789. Alternatively, you can reach us on Facebook or by filling out a quick inquiry form. We’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.

What kind of new homes does Nexus design and build?

We believe every new home needs to be unique and perfectly suited to its owners and their lifestyle. It would be nice if you could buy a new house at the supermarket, but unfortunately things aren’t that simple.

That’s why Nexus offers custom designed new homes, specifically tailored to suit your budget and block of land. We’re committed to working with you and turning your vision of a dream home into a reality.

In other words, we don’t just custom design and build new homes specifically suited to our clients, we will also work with you to build the perfect new home – the one you imagine it to be.

Does Nexus only build traditional homes?

Nope! You’ll be glad to hear that Nexus specialises in both traditional and modular building methods. Depending on your brief and build type, Modular Homes could be the better choice; it all depends on your needs.

That’s why we’ll work with you to give you a perfectly suited build for you and your budget. We pride ourselves on creating custom built homes and renovations that enhance your lifestyle. All the homes Nexus build reflect our client’s individual needs and requirements – we’re not happy until you are.

Are modular builds as strong as traditional builds?

Absolutely. Modular buildings have to be driven by truck to your site and then crane lifted in. After that, everything is welded into place and tested for durability and safety.
